How Alacarte started

Hello, my name is Maya, and I am the owner of Alacarte. I also own Events by Harvey, which is how the idea for a snack cart originated. I’ll summarize how Alacarte came to be, though I tend to make the short story long.

I have been fortunate enough to travel around the U.S. for my event business, where I noticed that snack carts were incredibly popular in places like Scottsdale, AZ, Nashville, TN, and Birmingham, AL. Clients in Memphis started asking me to find them a snack cart, and after doing some research, I realized there was a need for one in the Memphis area. After months of putting it off, I finally began the process of creating my own snack cart, which involved handling paperwork and licensing, as well as developing a brand I loved.

For my brand, I wanted it to be versatile enough for any event and capable of serving all types of snacks and hors d'oeuvres. The name “Alacarte” came to mind because, in the food industry, it means individually priced items, allowing consumers to choose exactly what they want for their meal.

With Alacarte, our clients can do just that. We have a base price and then provide quotes based on their specific requests. Additionally, we offer different tabletops to ensure we are fully prepared for the foods we will be serving.

In summary, I identified an untapped market and pursued it with the support of my family, friends, Memphis wedding professionals, and my new Alacarte team! I cannot wait for you to have Alacarte at your event!
