How Alacarte started
Hello, my name is Maya & I am the owner of Alacarte. I also own Events by Harvey which is how the idea of a snack cart got started. I am going to try to summarize how Alacarte came to be but if I love making a short story long. I have been lucky enough to travel around the US for my event business and I saw snack carts being super popular in places like Scottsdale, AZ, Nashville, TN and in Birmingham, AL. Clients in Memphis started to ask me to find them a snack cart, and after doing research, I saw there was a need for one in the Memphis area. After months of pushing it to the back burner, I finally started the research on creating one on my own, paperwork/licensing and creating a brand that I loved.
For my brand, I wanted to be versatile to any event and be able to do any type of snack or hor d’oeurves with the cart. I also wanted to make sure the cart could handle all the different types of food. And that is how the word “a la carte” came into my head. “A la carte,” in the food industry means individually priced which allows the consumer to pick exactly what they want for their meal. With Alacarte, our clients can do just that. We have a base price and then we’ll quote the client based on their specific requests. We also have different table tops to help of be completely prepared for the food we will be serving.
So, short story long, I saw un untapped market and went for it with the help of family, friends, Memphis wedding professionals and my new Alacarte team backing me! I cannot wait for you to have Alacarte at your event!
